FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment. Medical device for occupying a gastric space within a patient's body comprises a device assembly comprising a reservoir therein, a fluid transfer member and a release section containing an elongate structure extending into a reservoir, the opening in the elongate structure provides the fluid passage out of the reservoir. Reservoir is impermeable for fluid medium. Fluid transfer member permits delivery of filler material into the reservoir expand the device assembly in active configuration. Reservoir comprises release material configured to compress the exterior of the elongate structure to prevent fluid flow through the fluid passage. Elongate structure separates release material from the fluid passage so that release material is completely outside the fluid passage and physically separated from medium in the patient's body until reduced structural integrity of the release material provides opening the elongated structure to open the fluid passage. There are disclosed versions of the medical device, differing by construction.
EFFECT: technical result is simplified insertion and removal of filler material in the patient's body.
