SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol delivery device and a method for controlling operation of such a device. Aerosol delivery device comprises a control housing, an atomizer housing containing an atomizer, and a cartridge comprising a reservoir configured to contain the aerosol precursor composition, and a valve assembly configured to dispense the aerosol precursor composition into the atomizer body when the cartridge interacts with the atomizer body. Valve assembly comprises a dispensing seal and a reservoir seal. Control housing is made with possibility of detachable interaction with atomizer housing, and atomizer housing is made with possibility of detachable interaction with cartridge. Atomizer is configured to receive electric current from the control housing and the aerosol precursor composition from the aerosol production cartridge. Valve assembly forms a capillary tube for dispensing, wherein the valve assembly also comprises a first plate and a second plate arranged adjacent to each other with a predetermined spacing, and the capillary tube for dispensing passes through the first plate to the gap between the first plate and the second plate.

EFFECT: enabling more efficient transportation and extraction of the entire aerosol precursor composition from the aerosol precursor cavity.
