Video decoding method, comprising obtaining from a bit stream information on method of determining group of pixels to be compensated, and compensation values; if group of pixels to be compensated is determined in accordance with bands, based on information on method of determining group of pixels to be compensated, applying compensation values in accordance with pixel bands to one or more pixels corresponding to pixel bands in current unit; if group of pixels to be compensated is determined in accordance with limit value levels based on information on method of determining group of pixels to be compensated, applying compensation values in accordance with limit value levels to one or more pixels corresponding to limit value levels in current unit; wherein bands are formed by breaking down full range of pixel values of one or more pixels in current unit.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of quality of reconstructed image.
