FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymer particles passivation method for prevention of their undesirable interaction with environment. Method of polymer material passivating includes (a) polymer material surface treating, where polymer material is one or more toner particles surface, containing crystalline polyester, and where surface treatment includes (i) polymer material dipping into aqueous solution either ruthenium tetraoxide or osmium tetraoxide, (ii) polymer material washing, and (iii) polymer material drying to produce passivated polymer material.
EFFECT: metal sputtering coating and surface treatment with aqueous solutions, as shown, is successfully passivates particles, such as, for example, toner particles, and prevents interaction between particles and epoxy resin for filling, which causes artefacts observed during visual imaging by translucent electron microscopy (TEM).
