METHOD FOR ESTIMATING CLINICAL COURSE OF WOUND PROCESS IN THE FOOT WOUND IN PATIENTS WITH DIABETIC FOOT SYNDROME IN POSTOPERATIVE PERIOD Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61B5/00 G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2602925 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and can be used for estimating clinical course of wound process in the foot wound in patients with diabetic foot syndrome in postoperative period. Method comprises sampling 0.3-0.5 ml of capillary blood from the central part of the wound. Partial pressure O2 in capillary blood is being determined over time: during dressing the 5th, 10th and 15th day after operation. Then, method comprises estimating the"oxygen sag" - degree of reducing the level of partial pressure O2 relative to the normal range, equal to 80 mm of mercury. Reduced partial pressure in capillary blood of the wound by 5 mm of mercury is taken as 1 unit of "oxygen sag". If "oxygen sag" is observed the 5th, 10th day after operation, clinical course is considered to be requiring correction of postoperative therapy. If "oxygen sag" of 7 units and more is observed the 15th day after operation, clinical course is considered to be requiring additional staging necrectomy or consecutive amputation.

EFFECT: method provides accurate measurement of level of tissue hypoxia, determining therapeutic approach by determining partial pressure O2 of the central part of the wound and detection of "oxygen sag".
