SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an image sensor and an image capturing device. Image sensor including a pixel unit, in which a plurality of unit pixels, each of which has one micro lens and a plurality of photoelectric conversion units, makes up a matrix, signal reading unit that reads signals accumulated in photoelectric conversion units and converts the read signals into digital signals, signal processing device that processes the signals read by the signal reading unit and has an image capture signal processing device, which makes signal processing for generating a captured image from signals read by the signal reading unit, and a focus detection signal processing device, which makes signal processing to detect focus on signals read by the signal reading unit, and an output unit that outputs the signals processed by the signal processing device.
EFFECT: providing an image sensor that can significantly reduce the time taken to output the signals necessary to control the drive of an image capture device, such as focus detection signals, from the image sensor.
