METHOD FOR ASSESSING BIOINERTNESS OF MEDICAL IMPLANTS in vivo Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2603717 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to experimental surgery. For that two samples of analyzed material are implanted in liver and kidneys of rats with further layer suturing of wound without drainage. Then on 14 and 30 day animals are removed from experiment, and tissue samples are taken for histopathological examination incising transversely in direction of implant through the whole thickness of the body. Depth of formed reactive tissue areas and capsules is measured, afterwards cell elements, describing various stages of wound process, are counted. For this purpose polymorphonuclear leukocytes of all types are analyzed: lymphocytes, histiocytes, fibroblasts. Biological inertness of material is specified based on intensity of leukocyte infiltration, absence of polymorphonuclear leucocytes in infiltrates, determined thickness of connective tissue capsule and completeness of collagenogenesis.

EFFECT: invention can be used to assess bioinertness of materials for making medical implants.
