FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: hydrogel contains acrylamide-base polymer obtained with the use of radical polymerization initial agent in apyrogenic water as dispersion medium. Hydrogel contains cross-linked polyacrylamide obtained with the use of biocompatible cross-linking agent, mainly methylene-bis-acrylamide, and preferably with the use of a mixture of ammonium persulfate and tetramethylethylenediamine as polymerization initiating agent. Preferable concentration of indicated polymer in hydrogel is from 3.5 to 9 wt.-%. Hydrogel is used for correction of cosmetic or functional defects by organ endoprosthesis, for intratissue depot drug of prolonged action making, for vital cavern tamponage. EFFECT: enhanced quality of hydrogel. 5 tbl, 2 dwg, 5 cl
