SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing on surface of cotton fabric polymer coatings with hydrophobic properties, which can be used as protective, water-, dirt-repellant coatings. Technical result is achieved in a method of producing polymer coating on surface of cotton fabric, which involves treatment of fabric by dipping in solution of applied compound under normal conditions and subsequent heat treatment at 140 °C, Treatment of cotton fabric is performed for 30 minutes with 0.5-3 % solution of a copolymer of glycidyl methacrylate and hexyl methacrylate in methyl ethyl ketone, obtained beforehand, in molar ratio of monomer links glycidyl methacrylate: hexyl methacrylate, equal to 9-7:1-3.

EFFECT: high hydrophobic properties of cotton fabric.
