FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing polymeric coatings on the surface of a metal, for example aluminum, having hydrophobic properties that can be used as anti-icing coatings, protective coatings for electronics, self-cleaning surfaces, as well as coatings to protect against biofouling. Method of obtaining a polymer coating on the surface of aluminum is described, including degreasing of the surface of aluminum with acetone, treatment with 1M sodium hydroxide solution, water, subsequent drying and modification of the surface, in which the degreasing of the aluminum surface is carried out before treatment with a sodium hydroxide solution; after treatment with a sodium hydroxide solution, the surface is etched with 2M–5M hydrochloric acid solution and conditioned at 140 °C, and the modification of the aluminum surface is carried out with a 3 wt. % solution of copolymer of glycidyl methacrylate and 2,2,3,3,4,4,4-heptafluorobutyl methacrylate, taken in a molar ratio of 0.6:1, respectively, previously prepared at 70 °C, in the presence of azobisisobutyronitrile in methyl ethyl ketone medium, followed by conditioning of the modified aluminum at 140 °C.
EFFECT: technical result is to obtain a polymer coating with superhydrophobic properties on the aluminum surface.
