FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, namely to method of production of fatty acids methyl ester (FAME), suitable for use in engine. Sea microalgae ooze is collected, selected from group consisting of Microspora sp., Cladophora sp. and cultivated Chlorella variabilis for obtaining of microalgae biomass. Biomass is dried in the Sun to residual moisture of 5-10 %. Biomass is treated with steam jet or osmotic shock for destruction of cell walls. Lipids are extracted from biomass with hexane to produce crude oil. Hexane and crude oil are removed with fuller's ground. Or optionally extract is processed after destruction of cell walls directly with fuller's ground for removal of phospholipids, pigments and other impurities. It is filtered to remove suspended solid substances. Extract oil is treated with alkaline solution to reduce content of free fatty acids. Re-esterification of purified oil catalyzed by alkali is made. FAME is separated and further purified.

EFFECT: obtained FAME is suitable for use in engine as biodiesel.
