SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a water splitting cell, having at least one electrode comprising a porous membrane, wherein porous membrane is at least partially hydrophobic, and gas obtained on at least one electrode diffuses from cells through porous membrane. Invention also relates to methods of producing hydrogen, oxygen and splitting water.
EFFECT: present invention increases efficiency of electrolytic reactions.
