FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, specifically to thermomechanical treatment of titanium alloys, and can be used for producing high-strength nanostructured rods of round section from titanium alloy VT22. Method comprises heating a workpiece to temperature of 850 °C, deformation of workpiece by three-roll transverse-helical rolling at 850-750 °C with stepwise decrease of temperature of workpiece at each next pass with direct quenching with rolling after every pass. Degree of true logarithmic deformation at every pass is 0.21-0.54, and total true logarithmic deformation is 1.2. After transverse-helical rolling obtained rod is subjected to ageing at temperature of 420-550 °C for 5 or 10 hours.
EFFECT: obtaining nanostructured rods of round section from titanium alloy VT22 with improved mechanical properties.
