FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering. Method of operation of a lithium-ion accumulator battery in autonomous power supply system of an artificial Earth satellite (AES) involves charging, storing recharges in charged condition, if necessary, discharges, controlling voltage of accumulators, disconnecting faulty accumulators from a series circuit of battery accumulators, periodical accumulators voltage balancing by selecting the one with the lowest voltage, connecting to the remaining accumulators individual discharge resistors with subsequent disconnection of the corresponding resistors when voltage on the corresponding accumulators reaches the voltage level of the initially selected accumulator. Balancing of accumulators by voltage is carried out during charging (recharging) of the accumulator battery. Charging (recharging) completion is followed by evaluating the maximum current value of disbalance of accumulators.
EFFECT: invention enables higher reliability of operation of a lithium-ion battery in autonomous system of AES power supply.
