FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in sample preparation process for siltstone terrigenous rocks for conducting petrophysical investigations. Aqueous solution of methylene blue dye is used (C16H18ClN3S·3H2O) with volume of 10 cm3 with concentration of 0.73 mg/cm3 per 1 g of core material as indicator for conducting petrophysical investigations by rapid separation of core samples into separate groups. Dye is used before step of drying samples taking into account range of clay content describing high-clay rocks.
EFFECT: method provides, for core samples with any content of clay cement irrespective of component composition, rapid and clear determination of drying temperature permissible for samples.
