FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to forensic and criminalistic medicine and can be used for detection of traces of organic origin, in particular traces of fingers and palms. Mean in form of aerosol is proposed for detection of traces of ridge pattern. Agent is solution of chelate ions of rare-earth elements with β-diketones in weakly polar organic solvent. Method of detecting traces of the ridge pattern is also described, > including aerosol application of solution of said chelate on surface with sweat-fat imprints and exposure to UV radiation, for example at wave length of 365 or 254 nm. Device for application of tracer substance is also described representing aerosol bottle with dissolved said indicator substance and gas-repellent.

EFFECT: invention provides universal device for detecting imprints on smooth and porous surfaces while reducing detection range, reduced time of detection and fixation of imprints in field conditions.
