FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: method of creating an image (pattern) of a human fingerprint involves obtaining a papillary picture, selecting characteristic parameters on said picture, using said parameters to form skeleton ridges of the pattern and skeletonisation of the pattern, wherein the type of the pattern is determined first from the three types - helical, looped or arched, after which the corresponding fundamental dermal ridges are defined as the characteristic parameters in different cases; also for all types of patterns, the crease line between the nail and middle phalanges of the finger is selected, after which all defined lines are selected to form ridges of the skeleton, and skeletonisation is performed by separating the formed ridges from the papillary picture.
EFFECT: simple and cheap pre-analysis of fingerprints while also increasing reliability of comparing when establishing similarity between papillary pictures based on type.
