SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to drilling, namely to for percussion drilling tool. Method of detachable locking guide ring producing contains following steps: use of first ring and second ring, wherein first ring is identical to second ring, and they both have diameter; cutting of first ring along diametrical edge to form first ring major arc and first ring minor arc, wherein first ring major arc is greater than first ring minor arc, and first ring major arc is, substantially, half of first ring; cutting of second ring along diametrical edge to form second ring major arc and second ring minor arc, wherein second ring major arc is greater than second ring minor arc, and second ring major arc is, substantially, half of second ring; location of first ring major arc next to second ring major arc to form detachable guide locking ring, wherein first ring major arc is separated from second ring major arc with clearance making approximately from zero inches to approximately of 0.010 inch.

EFFECT: providing drilling bit retention inside drilling hammer housing during fault occurrence and direction of bit during drilling.
