FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to neonatology, and can be used for prediction of lethal outcome in premature newborns in cerebral ischemia caused by congenital cytomegalovirus infection. Method of determining pH in aspirate from anterior nasal cavity (A), pH in aspirate from deep-lying portion nasopharyngeal space (B) and activity of lactate dehydrogenase in aspirate from anterior nasal cavity (Un/l) (C). Then by means of discriminant equation, including defined properties, predicting lethal outcome in premature newborns in cerebral ischemia: D=-58.953×A+87.849×B-0.004×C, where D is discriminant function with boundary value equal to +194.71. If D is equal to or greater than limit value of discriminant function, absence of fatal outcome in cerebral ischemia is predicted, and if D is less than limit value, lethal outcome in cerebral ischemia of average degree of severity is predicted, caused by congenital cytomegalovirus infection in premature newborns. Probability of correct prediction is 80.3 %.
EFFECT: invention provides early performance of therapeutic measures aiming at prevention of fatal outcome in given category of patients.
