FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: railway vehicle (1), which optionally is movable on road without rail track, contains rail wheels (15, 16) and road wheels (22, 23). Road wheels are made with possibility of lowering relative to rail wheels from inoperative position, wherein rail vehicle is operated on rails, into working position, in which rail vehicle is operated on road, and in working position road wheels protrude above rail wheels in direction of road surface (40). Railway vehicle also includes coupling device, by which road wheel during operation on road is connected with driven rail wheels axis, so that in working position at operation on road, road wheel is rotated by means of one or more driven rail wheel axes, and out of working position at least one road wheel not is rotated.
EFFECT: higher transport network flexibility.
