SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biochemistry. Disclosed is a method for treating an aqueous waste stream (versions) and a device for implementing method. Method comprises feeding aqueous waste stream with a biomass into a bioreactor, reacting biodegradable organic substance with biomass to form methane, extracting a first flow of fluid from bioreactor and using same for filtration to form a filtrate stream and a concentrate stream, returning concentrate stream to bioreactor, extracting second flow of fluid and feeding into sludge treatment unit, in sludge treatment unit second fluid flow after adding a flocculant or a coagulant is divided into a third flow with higher content of organic substance than second flow, and a fourth flow with lower content of organic substance than second flow. In one version fourth flow is used for feeding into a membrane filtration unit, and in another version, fourth flow is fed into bioreactor. Device includes a bioreactor, sludge treatment unit, membrane filtration unit, coagulation/flocculation apparatus, located between bioreactor and sludge treatment unit.

EFFECT: reduced power consumption, operating costs of device, higher output, efficiency, reduced clogging of membrane, longer service life of membrane and increased flow through it.
