FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing aqueous mixtures of O-acyl-isethionates of formula (I) and a surfactant based on N-acyl-amino acids of formula (II):

where substitute R is selected from saturated or unsaturated C5-C21 alkyl groups, substitute R1 is selected from H, C1-C4 alkyl, substitute R2 is selected from H or any groups present in α-carbon atoms of natural amino acids, substitute R3 is selected from groups COOX, CH2SO3X, where X is selected from Li+, Na+ or K+, substitute R4 is selected from H or methyl, and M denotes a cation selected from Na+, K+ and NH4+, including steps: A) reacting more than one equivalent acyl chloride of a fatty acid with hydroxyethyl sulphonate or hydroxy-(1-methyl)ethyl sulphonate of an alkali metal or ammonia at temperature from 50 to 70 °C to obtain a compound of formula (I); B) reacting product of step (A) (containing residue of acyl chloride of a fatty acid) with one or more amino acids in presence of a base in standard Schotten–Baumann reaction reaction conditions in an aqueous medium, including pH of reaction mixture maintained in range of 9–10.5, and reaction temperature ranging from 20 to 50 °C, to obtain a compound of formula (II). Also described is a composition produced by this method.
EFFECT: technical result is development of a method which is able to ensure flexibility of production of "supersoft" mixtures of surfactant in terms of changing ratio of O-acyl-isethionates of formula N-acyl-amino acids and a composition containing said “supersoft” surfactant, wherein composition is easily introduced into products for personal hygiene.
