FIELD: acoustics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acoustics, particularly to means of measuring sound-insulating properties of obturators. Device comprises an ear canal microphone, receiver, circuit of preliminary treatment, frequency conversion unit, unit for evaluation quality of isolation. Quality of isolation is determined by Fourier analysis to obtain frequency content of signals, followed by comparison of the signal levels in the first and second frequency ranges. Value of quality of isolation is calculated at detection of amplification of low frequencies, or in case of fluctuation of frequency spectrum width, or in calculation of the gradient of the measured value as a frequency function. Test signals used are the sounds of human body. If measured characteristics do not comply with the specified requirement, a warning signal is generated.

EFFECT: reduced overall dimensions of the device, higher energy saving, higher accuracy in evaluation of quality of sound insulation.
