Method of reducing agent leakage determining from exhaust gas (EG) treatment device includes following steps: a) determination of nitrogen oxides second sensor (29) and device (41) signals (3, 4) difference (5), b) determination of deviation (7) between difference (5) and control unit (2) target value (6), d) determination of control unit integrating component (20) gradient (21), e) establishing of reducing agent leakage, if deviation (7) exceeds first threshold value (9), and gradient (21) is second threshold value (10).
EFFECT: using disclosed method and accordingly developed and implemented device enables reliable establishing of reducing agent leakage, wherein very fast control unit can be used.
