SUBSTANCE: invention relates to behaviour of random access procedure in wireless communication network, a method for conveying information from a node to user equipment, UE, in a high speed packet access (HSPA) system. Method comprises steps of obtaining rank information and modulation information related to a four-branch multiple input multiple output, MIMO, system, combining (S2) rank information and modulation information related to said four-branch MIMO system, into a bit pattern and transmitting combined rank information and modulation information related to said four-branch MIMO system as said bit pattern in a control channel.
EFFECT: providing energy-efficient solution for conveying information associated with four-branch MIMO system, in a control channel from node to UE in a HSPA system.
