SUBSTANCE: device comprises a driven mill-knife head installed on a running gear carrying the drive and containing at least one cutting tooth made of several cutting plates for milling rails heads. Head comprises a disc-shape tool holder including peripherally located, equipped with cutting plates cartridges arranged on several articulated with the tool holder bearing segments, herewith the tool holder is connected to the mill-knife head drive, and/or on the tool holder there are peripherally located at least two equipped with cutting plates cartridges, which differ by the number of cutting teeth, and/or by distances between the cutting teeth, and/or by the front angle of separate cutting plates, and/or by the angle of their installation.
EFFECT: provided is shorter time for the cutting plates replacement.
