SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in woodworking to perform pulse drying of boards and hardwood. Method for pulse drying of timber includes preliminary heating of material, drying, carried out in cycles, alternating between the Operation and Pause modes, which is followed by additional conditioning; preliminary heating and additional conditioning after drying are performed in cycles, alternating the Operation and Pause modes, wherein the duration of the Operation and Pause modes at all stages is set subject to the characteristics of dried material and required quality parameters, and the drying process is performed with gradual increase of temperature in the Operation mode until the end of the drying process, wherein during the process of preliminary heating and conditioning the temperature is gradually increased when the energy carrier is supplied in the heater and the heated air is circulated in the drying volume.

EFFECT: higher efficiency, improved quality of dried material.
