DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR PROSTATE CANCER Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B5/53

Abstract RU 2607949 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to oncology and urology, and can be used for diagnosing prostate cancer. Exposure to direct current is made by means of three on-skin plate electrodes. Anode is made in form of elongated electrode of rectangular shape with dimensions of sides 12.8 cm and 5.6 cm. It is placed 1 cm above upper edge of pubic articulation so, that its long sides are perpendicular to projection of white line of stomach on skin. Cathode is made in form of two electrodes. First of them is electrode of elongated rectangular shape with dimensions of sides 12.8 cm and 5.6 cm, which is placed in lumbosacral region so, that its long sides are perpendicular to conditional line passing along tops of spinous processes of lumbar vertebrae. Second electrode has square shape with size of side, equal to short side of anode, which is placed in perineum. When electric current is supplied initial limit of tolerance is determined by absence of pain, corresponding value of initial current and voltage are also determined. Working voltage is increased in steps with interval of 1–3 minutes with pitch equal to 0.1 V up to tolerance limit. During exposure electrical resistance of tissues between anode and cathode is measured for 60 minutes. If it reduces to 300 kOhm and less prostate cancer is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method provides more accurate diagnosis of prostate cancer, eliminates injuries of prostate tissue and adjoining anatomical structures.
