FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-destructive testing, namely to infrared diagnosing and thermal control methods. During thermal control of a pipeline heat insulation the movement of a thermal imaging camera is performed along a helical line around the pipeline with a frequency of its rotation depending on the temperature field maximum change on the outer surface of the pipeline heat insulation in compliance with the law of supercharging gas temperature maximum movement along the pipeline length. Herewith the helical line pitch at the thermal imaging camera movement around the pipeline shall provide obtaining overlapping thermograms taking into account technical characteristics of the thermal imaging camera.
EFFECT: higher reliability and information value of the obtained data due to obtaining thermograms of the entire surface of the pipeline heat insulation at a single test.
