FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of non-contact non-destructive testing of materials and articles using active scanning thermography with heating of the controlled object by radiation. Invention can be used in various industries, including automotive industry, aircraft engineering, shipbuilding and others. According to the invention, the surface of the controlled object is heated by a linear heat source moving at a constant speed relative to the object. Thermograms are recorded using an infrared camera, and to detect defects in the material, it is used by calculating the mean-square deviation of temperature and the temperature gradient in a sliding window, the size of which depends on the size of the cell. For root-mean-square deviation, its diameter should not be less than cell size, for gradient – should not exceed ½ of cell diameter. Time after heating at which the best accuracy of detecting defects is achieved is also experimentally determined.
EFFECT: high accuracy of detecting defects.
