FIELD: space.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection means and intended for massive space bodies (SB) orbit changing, threatening collision with the Earth. Device consists of housing, guidance and orientation system, laser range finder. In housing heat insulated container with metal hydride is located, produced by means of electrochemical hydrogen saturation. In housing head part on sliding beam impact element is arranged from metal hydride based on nickel matrix, saturated with hydrogen. Device approaches SB at speeds, equal to or exceeding hyperbolic speed. At impact element collision with SB large internal energy is released, with sunken crater (funnel) formation. With short delay (about 0.0005 s), depending on beam length, second explosion at funnel bottom takes place, functioning as “nozzle” for products of container explosion.
EFFECT: technical result consists in more efficient change of threatening SB flight path.
