SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improved external photoflash lamps of photocameras and relates to photographic equipment. Proposed external photoflash lamp for a camera comprises lamp cartridge (2) and lamp base (1). Recess to accommodate battery (4) and cover of recess to accommodate battery (3) are contained in lamp cartridge (2). Lithium battery (5) is arranged in recess to accommodate battery (4), and lithium battery (5) comprises electrical output contact (6). Electrical output contact (6) has the shape of a rectangular plate and consists of rectangular sides of end surface (61) and rectangular sides of bottom surface (62), where rectangular sides of end surface (61) are arranged on the surface of front part (51) of lithium battery (5); and rectangular sides of bottom surface (62) are arranged on bottom surface (52) of lithium battery (5). Electrical input contact (7) is arranged in recess to accommodate battery (4) and is located on the side wall of recess to accommodate battery (4) opposite to bottom surface (52) of lithium battery (5).
