SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geology and can be used when searching for hydrocarbon accumulations. Disclosed is method of detecting hydrocarbons using underwater vehicle, equipped with one or more measuring components. Method includes navigation of underwater vehicle in water area; monitoring of water body with measuring components, connected with underwater vehicle to collect measurement data. At that, measuring components comprise mass spectrometer and fluorometer to determine chemical components concentrations by mass-spectrometer and fluorometer. Collected data from underwater vehicle is used to determine, presence of hydrocarbons, and their location.

EFFECT: high accuracy of obtained data.
