FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a contact device for implementation of heat- and mass-exchange processes in a gas-liquid system and can be used in processes in oil, gas, chemical and other related industries. Short-layer packing consists of thin alternating layers, made with different geometric characteristics, wherein thin layer of regular packaging 4 which is odd-numbered in direction of gas flow alternates with thin layer of dump packing 5, where in adjacent alternating layers of packing each odd layer of packing in direction of gas flow has smaller height H1, as compared with each even layer with height H2, wherein ratio H2/H1 is within range of (H2/H1) = 1.2÷7. Adjacent alternating layers of packing can be made from dump packings with various geometrical characteristics (different Raschig rings, Raschig ring-Pall seat). Dump packing can be laid regularly.
EFFECT: use of multi-layer alternating layers of packing with different geometrical characteristics provides layered (local) existence of phase inversion mode in tower, pulsating mode of flow of gas and liquid phases on height of tower, thus providing considerable and stable in time increase in efficiency of heat- and mass-exchange processes in towers with packing.
