SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio communication. System, method, and apparatus for advanced timing and time transfer for satellite constellations using crosslink ranging and an accurate time source are disclosed. In at least one embodiment of present invention, time synchronisation on a subset of satellites with crosslinking capabilities is used to distribute time through a network of crosslinked satellites.

EFFECT: technical result of disclosed invention consists in improvement of satellite-based positioning, navigation and timing using crosslinking and accurate time source to provide accurate information on timing for calibration of local oscillator on a crosslink paired satellite.
