FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, fruit growing and line breeding. Method involves annual shoots freezing during period of rest in artificial climate chamber. In autumn-winter period of the current year shoots are prepared – 2 versions by 3 shoot, first version is control one, and second is freezed in artificial climate chamber. Then cuttings are kept at room temperature for three days, determining on scanning spectrophotometer transmission coefficients of aqueous extracts, extracted from healthy (control) and damaged shoots, in range of 300–900 nm with step of 1 nm. Degree of damage is assessed by Euclidean distance value between taken in pairs values of transmission coefficients – the lower this value, the smaller plants freezing degree.
EFFECT: method enables faster evaluation of fruit plants damage by frost.
