SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for policy control in an infrastructure network comprising a gateway, GW, access function, AF, and at least one policy and charging rules function, PCRF. Method in which network for each current PDN connection performs steps of: GW establishing a Gx or Gxx session in order to set current PDN connection under PCC control; GW further providing information about current PDN connection to a first PCRF; first PCRF performing authorisation and policy decision based on PDN connection information and sends it together with restoration instructions to GW; GW when detecting that first PCRF (11) is not available, applying restoration instructions, said instructions requiring GW to try to regain PCC control and/or requiring GW to gracefully delete services associated with PCC control.

EFFECT: technical result consists in ensuring maintenance or service interruption depending on recovery instructions when PCRF failure is detected.
