FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy, namely to a method for manufacture of a semifinished product consisting of refractory compound fibers and matrix material of titanium and its alloys sprayed thereon, designed for production of fiber composite material used as a structural material for manufacture of reverse actuator rods, LPC and HPC blades, fan shaft, and may be used in aeronautical engineering as well as transport, robotics, ship-building. The method includes coating of continuous fibers selected from the group containing boron, silicon carbide and aluminium oxide, titanium or titanium alloy by physical vapour deposition from the gas phase, wherein plasma cleaning of fibers is carried out prior to deposition including inert gas supply, deposition is performed at a power of 3 to 7 kW during 2-8 hours without a reactive atmosphere, and then heat treatment of sprayed fibers is carried out at a temperature of 600-850°C.
EFFECT: obtaining of uniform homogeneous coating composition on the refractory compounds fibers to enhance their tensile strength.
