FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is relevant to the field of mechanical engineering and can be used in gear transmissions equipped with wheels of large diameter. Gear wheel includes hub, body in the form of two rows of spokes, rim and gear ring. Ribbed stiffeners, which connect ends of neighboring spokes among themselves, are made along external surface of hub, along internal surface of rim and in plane of rotation of each row of spokes. Volume of ring-like trough formed by force of internal rim surface, internal surfaces of ribbed stiffeners and portions of internal surfaces of ends of spokes, which are placed between these neighboring ribbed stiffeners and of ribbed-stiffener height, is filled with ring-like insert of equal volume. At that, cross-section of the said insert is equal to cross-section of this trough.
EFFECT: improvement of operating characteristics of gear wheel is provided.
