SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, specifically to electric machine with rotor made of superconducting material and a control method. Electric machine (101) includes stator (103), rotatably mounted rotor (105) having magnetisable and cooled rotor section (107) made of superconducting material (417) and control unit (109) configured to magnetise with stator current rotor section (107) made of superconducting material (417). Control unit (109) provides control of electric machine (101) depending on temperature of superconducting material and magnetic field of rotor.
EFFECT: technical result is improved operating characteristics of superconducting electric machines.
