FIELD: physics, navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to active-passive sonar localization. A method for determination of multiposition active-passive sonar system efficiency consists in calculation of zones of signal detection probability in the form of zone sections in a horizontal or vertical plane at a given probability of false alarm, various configurations of thereceiving and transmitting antennas system and changing hydrological conditions of a given region. The receiving and transmitting antennas can be both fixed and located on mobile carriers.
EFFECT: invention proposes periodic measurement of changing hydrological conditions (sonar channel propagation characteristics, sea waves characteristics, etc), clarification of receiving and transmitting antennas coordinates and correct detection probability calculation for a given level of false alarms.
