SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the fields of hydroacoustics and hydrooptics and can be used to detect moving technical objects. Point: the method is used for a typical hydroacoustic observation path, in which time-frequency processing of the received noise signal is carried out, and a decision is made to detect an object when the value of the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds the threshold value. When implementing the method, in addition to the hydroacoustic observation channel, a hydro-optical observation channel is formed, in which the time-frequency processing of the received optical signal is carried out with the determination of the age of the wake. On the basis of additional information, the probability of finding an object in the search area is determined and an adaptive detection threshold is formed based on the criterion of the maximum a posteriori probability of Bayes.

EFFECT: increase in the probability of correct detection with a simultaneous decrease in the probability of a false alarm when detecting moving objects by attracting additional information about the probability of finding these objects in the search area.
