FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, namely to out-patient monitoring of patients. Method for assessing patient's symptoms includes stages, at which patient is recorded by means of speech recording device during time interval, audio speech is received by means of recognition unit and duration of each pause is determined by processing of number of pauses during time interval, current level of respiratory distress is determined and notification is issued to patient or medical worker, if current level of respiratory distress is above acceptable level. System comprises speech recording device, speech recognition unit and processor, which by number of pauses and duration of each pause makes assessment of respiratory failure for patient, corresponding to time interval.
EFFECT: use of inventions enables more objective assessment of symptoms.
