FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: application: in the electric power industry. According to the method, facility inputs correspond to the inputs of the model. To activate the model, one of the values detected at the corresponding facility input shall be supplied to the model inputs. All the inputs and outputs shall be monitored, but not necessarily completely. The complete monitoring is required at least for one input. Thus, monitoring is carried out "superfluously". All inputs and outputs are divided into three groups. The first group includes completely monitored inputs and outputs. The second one includes those monitored for voltage only, the third one - for current only. Facility model is activated by influence made on the first and second model inputs and outputs by the voltage sources, and made on the third by the sources of the observed currents. Activated model response to the influence applied is determined, wherein only currents at first model inputs and outputs are defined as a response. Difference signals are determined as a difference between currents observed at the first facility inputs and outputs and corresponding model responses. Protection tripping characteristics are set on the basis of measurements, which are formed using difference signals.
EFFECT: expanding the functionality of the method by protecting all power facilities with any type of models and any amount of the facility observation.
