FIELD: energy.
SUBSTANCE: method detects emergency modes of an object, differing from each other in time of detection. This is done by using simulation models of a controlled object. Two types of mutually opposite modes are simulated: first - a short circuit in a protected area; second - all other modes, when the actuation of protection is prohibited. Simulation models are supplied to relay protection of currents and voltages in modes of both types, thus the training of relay protection is performed. Electrical values are in digital form. Short circuit mode values are converted into intermediate current value. Conversion is carried out in a mounting window of observation at each step of window increase. Intermediate values form a current measurement. Training is performed at each step, while obtaining as many characteristics of tripping as there are steps, included in the training of protection, starting from the second. For remote protection of power transmission lines, intermediate values are complex signals that vary with each step of observation. Proposed method discloses the use of filter for orthogonal components forming current complex signals. Specific instance of such a filter, operating in an arbitrary viewing window, is a widely used Fourier filter, for which the window is divisible by half-period of the mains frequency.
