FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: observe currents and voltages at the terminals of its windings, convert the observed values into two-dimensional signals, train relay protection from the first simulation model of the transformer reproducing the short-circuit modes in its windings, from the second simulation model reproducing the saturation modes of the transformer core, and from the third simulation model reproducing the modes of the external network, a separate mapping of the sets of modes of the first, second, and third simulation models in the form of, respectively, the first, second and third regions on the planes of two-dimensional signals. The trained protection of the monitored transformer is triggered if at least one measurement is displayed on the corresponding first region, but not every two-dimensional signal is displayed on the corresponding second or third region, and the voltages of the windings magnetization are used to generate the two-dimensional signals, which in their turn form in the transmitting models of the windings, where the current and voltage on the terminals of each winding are converted into a corresponding magnetizing voltage.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of differentiation of the modes of transformer damage and alternative modes.
