SUBSTANCE: invention relates to test and measuring equipment, namely, to devices for investigating mechanical properties of materials with small cross section, preferably, highly elastic threads. Portable breaking machine comprises mounted on a rigid frame: a single-point end strain gauge, a step motor, a power supply unit and a driver to the step motor, a microcontroller board.

EFFECT: implementation of the portable device, which provides sufficient breaking capacity at minimum dimensions and weight, suitable for testing highly elastic threads meets modern requirements for safety, energy saving, longer life, convenience of transportation, installation and operation, as well as reduction of costs for its purchase and operation.
