SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering. Carbon dioxide compression system comprises compressor stage arranged in series, for serial compression of gaseous flow containing carbon dioxide. Between at least some of series-arranged compressor stages are there are inter-stage heat exchangers for removal of waste heat from compressed gas flow and transferring said heat into a power conversion unit, wherein at least a portion of waste heat is recovered and converted into mechanical energy.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of compression of carbon dioxide.
