FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: anti-theft device comprises of a main unit (1). The main unit (1) comprises of a processor (2) and a multiplex bus driver (3). The processor (2) includes a control module (4), authorization method (5) and lock module (6). Using the multiplex bus driver (3) the processor (2) receives for processing the data about the car status and gives necessary digital control commands to the functional car parts when it detects unauthorized driving, so the car engine stops or it is impossible to make it run. An anti-theft method for vehicles is also proposed.
EFFECT: reduction of overall size of the device, stealth, expansion of its operation algorithms, achievement of increased reliability, reduction of current consumption, minimization of the number of connections to the output wires of the car, opportunity to use it with other anti-theft devices.
