FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises introduction of 2-methylnaphthalene, acetic acid, and 1% golden catalyst based on MN270 hypercrosslinked precursor processed polystyrene into the reaction container, heating of the reaction mixture and dropwise introduction of 30% hydrogen peroxide for 40-60 minutes at a ration of 1:2.5 in terms of acetic acid. At that, AuClPPh3 gold triphenylphosphine chloride is used as a precursor, after hydrogen peroxide introduction, the reaction is continued for 2-2.5 hours in the temperature range of 70 to 85 °C, at initial concentration of 2-methylnaphthalene of 0.035 to 0.02 mol/l.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain the end product with high output.
